The Chinese language is unique to Chinese people, so it was logical to use the language as a design idea. The word "hundred" is not just a number, it is often seen as a milestone. Military service is mandatory and an important responsibility for males in Taiwan, I was just like a blank piece of paper when I started my training (the word "hundred" sounds similar to the word "blank" in Chinese). I did not learn anything useful during the training and many things did not make sense. I couldn't even find a way to vent my frustrations. But the word "hundred" spoke my mind, because I was one hundred days away from completing the service.
Some may say you misspelled "stupid", but that was done on purpose, because military service makes you stupider.
The environment and length for military service may vary between different countries, but the feeling when it is done should be the same everywhere.
